Epke specialises in employment law and was admitted to the Dutch
Bar in 2003. Prior to this he was an employment lawyer for an
insurance company. Epke's work covers general employment law
and he advises and litigates in connection with employment
contracts, terms of employment, individual and collective
redundancy, mergers and acquisitions, transfers of undertakings,
employee participation, reorganisations, and competition clauses.
His articles appear in specialist publications and newsletters, and
he hosts a range of talks and seminars. He has also given guest
lectures to students of the Sport & Law programme at VU
University Amsterdam, and at Euroforum on flexible labour
relations. Epke is the author of various publications, including
several on reorganisations and competition clauses.
He has completed the postgraduate course in Dutch employment law
(PALA: Post-Academische Leergang Arbeidsrecht) and is a member of
the following associations: EELA (European Employment Lawyers
Association), AIJA (L'Association Internationale des Jeunes
Avocats/International Association of Young Lawyers), VAAA
(Vereniging van Arbeidsrecht Advocaten Amsterdam/Association of
Employment Law Lawyers), VAAN (Vereniging van
Arbeidsrecht/Employment Law Association), and the Sport & Law
Association (Vereniging voor Sport en Recht). Besides that he is
a lecturer at the "Academie voor de Rechtspraktijk".
