Pieter Ariëns Kappers heads an international corporate group of
the firm. He regularly advises US, German and other publicly or
privately held foreign companies in the areas of mergers and
acquisitions, reorganisations, joint ventures, the starting-up of
business operations in the Netherlands, including commercial
contracts. He heads the German Advisory Group of the firm. Pieter
is a recommended M&A lawyer in European Legal 500 and listed in
European Legal Experts for Corporate and Commercial law since start
of publication. He also regularly advises on media and
entertainment matters including television productions,
broadcasting and film.
Pieter is a frequent lecturer and the author of various
publications. He is a member of the Board of the Netherlands-German
Society.He has been long time Secretary General and
is presently Adviser to the Board of the Netherlands
Federation of Appraisers, Brokers and Auctioneers of moveable goods
Federatie TMV. Pieter is Vice Chair of the Art, Cultural
Institutions and Heritage Law Committee of the International Bar
Association. Pieter has been a long time member of the Board of the
Netherlands Film Museum serving as Vice-Chairman. He has also been
Chairman of the Board of the Foundation International Art Film,
Chairman of the Institute for the Code Cultural Sponsoring, General
Secretary of the Netherlands Copyright Association and is also a
past member of the Comité Exécutif of the International Copyright
Association ALAI.
Pieter is 'recommended' by Legal 500. He is a
member of the International Bar Association and Associate Member of
the American Bar Association.
