New faces for Boekel's Board of Directors
On 1 January 2012 Boekel's Board of Directors had a change of personnel and now consists of Frederieke Leeflang (partner, EU & Competition) and Paul Wanders (partner, Real Estate). Frederieke became a member of the board in September 2011, succeeding Ferdinand Mason (partner, M&A/Capital Markets), who is Head of International Strategy at the London office.

A team of competition lawyers, led by Boekel's Martijn van de Hel, has been involved in the termination of the NMa's (Dutch Competition Authority) investigation into the travel industry.
In early 2011, the NMa began an extensive investigation into possible antitrust violations in the travel industry, prompted by indications that tour operators and travel agents had agreed not to offer consumers any discounts with regard to travel sales, and to collectively boycot innovative online services that offer discounts.

Recently The World Bank has published its report "Women, Business and the Law: removing barriers to economic inclusion", which examines laws and regulations in various jurisdictions affecting women’s prospects as entrepreneurs and employees. Eugenie Nunes, partner Employment Law at Boekel, has contributed to this report for theNetherlands. The report’s quantitative indicators are intended to inform policy discussions and research on how to improve women’s economic inclusion.
